About Pilates

null

Pilates (originally known as Contrology) is a unique and holistic method of exercise devised by Joseph Pilates in the 1920’s aiming to improve flexibility, posture, strength, control and stamina throughout the entire body with prominence on quality not quantity through precision, yielding strength from control of muscular movement through stability.   Emphasis is placed on these 8 essential ingredients: relaxation, co-ordination, alignment, stamina, centring, concentration, breathing and flowing movements – known as the basic principles of Pilates to promote muscle and skeletal functioning throughout the whole body from deep within the core muscles to the extremities of the limbs along with a feeling of wellbeing and an awareness of working your body in harmony as a whole.

Who is Pilates for?

Pilates can be enjoyed by everyone regardless of age, gender or current fitness level. Pilates can act as an excellent part of rehabilitation and can also be a great compliment to all other sports and exercise programmes.

What to wear?

null

Please wear comfortable fitness attire but nothing too baggy as this can make it difficult to see your alignment.  Please wear clean socks or be barefoot.

Summer Glow

Welcome to Summer Glow – a soul nourishing Pilates Retreat designed to help you move, unwind, and reconnect.

Set in beautiful surroundings and bathed in summer sunshine, this special day invites you to slow down and truly care for your body and mind. We’ll begin with a flowing Pilates class to energise and awaken your body, building strength, mobility, and ease through mindful movement.

After our Pilates Flow, we’ll pause for a relaxed coffee break, enjoying delicious sweet treats from Vamos Kitchen – the perfect moment to refuel and connect.

From there, we’ll melt into a deeply restorative myofascial release session using spiky balls – releasing tension, soothing tired muscles, and creating space within the body.

Midday, we’ll gather together for a nourishing picnic, thoughtfully prepared to complement the day – a chance to relax, connect, and soak up the warmth of summer in a peaceful setting. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a gentle forest ramble, taking in the beauty of nature and, if we’re lucky, spotting deer along the way.

To close, you’ll be guided into a deep relaxation with a crystal bowl sound bath with the amazing Alice Francis, allowing the calming vibrations to wash over you and leave you feeling grounded, restored, and glowing from within.

Spaces are very limited and tend to go immediately, so be sure to book early to avoid missing out.

Summer Glow is your invitation to pause, breathe, and leave feeling lighter, brighter, and beautifully reconnected.
